Not a lot to say....not a person who likes blowing his trumpet....
The big 60 this year, originally trained as a printer, spent 17 years working for Social Work Department, as benefits advisor, and debt advice.
Used to go Sea Fishing almost every weekend and were usually based from Helensburgh Pier as the starting point for bait etc.
Fished all over Scotland on shore and some great outings on Boats, but gave up about 15 years ago when it was almost impossible to get a bite around the Clyde areas.
Sold most of my stuff at Car Boot Sale about 7 years ago, now wish I hadn't as what I had ABU 9000's, 10000's, ZZiplex Rods, Penn Reels and Rods Shimano reels....all costing a fortune now....
Had some health problems, now have restricted mobility but need to get out more, grandson, aged 12, showing some interest in fishing so decided to join SilverLure to see if I still had some interest in fishing.
If so, probably spend much more time on fishing with him, but we shall see...
Will spend 2010 going on as many 'Summer Outings' on both shore and boat, then I will know what my limitations are...not wanting to become anything 'special' as a member.
Have some skill in drawing and painting, so also may look at images at these outings for future artwork.
Seem a good bunch of guys, and when I get to know them better, will be available for most outings via the telephone, and will spend some time with the members digging bait and generally re-building my knowledge so that come winter, if I have survived, will be able to participate better.
Generally, easily contactable, and willing to help, will be strange to be part of a club, and not running-it....looking forward to it...!
